Virtus Provides Clinching Donation for Hartford Promise Double the Promise campaign for second year.
Hartford Promise, which supports scholarships and educational opportunities for Hartford students, achieved their goal of $100,000 in community giving in their recent six-week Double the Promise campaign. For the second year in a row, Virtus Investment Partners, Inc, has provided the clinching donation.
“When Bob and Margaret Patricelli agreed to match every dollar we raised during our recent six-week Double the Promise campaign, for the second year in a row, all of us at Hartford Promise were overjoyed,” says Richard Sugarman, President of Hartford Promise. “We are so thankful for the amazing generosity of so many donors, and particularly Virtus Investment Partners. For the second year running, Virtus stepped forward again with the final contribution that allowed us to exceed our goal. The campaign was an enormous success for Hartford Promise, and for our Promise Scholars.”

About Hartford Promise: Hartford Promise is a large-scale college scholarship and college success program for Hartford Public Schools students. Hartford Promise provides individual students from Hartford Public high schools who have maintained a B average, had a 93% attendance rate, and resided in Hartford with up to $20,000 in scholarships to attend the college of their choice, along with providing the support services and key relationships that lead to college success. There are currently 480 Hartford Promise Scholars attending 90 different colleges all over the country. They are succeeding at a high rate, and many are returning to Hartford to give back and be part of a diverse talented pipeline of professionals and employees.
