Hartford Promise reaches back into all Hartford public schools to help build a stronger college-going culture, providing targeted support for students through college awareness, FAFSA coaching, essay writing, college guidance, and more. We help Hartford students take full advantage of all possible resources to ensure their college future.

Hartford Promise builds strong relationships through our innovative cohort model to make sure that every Promise Scholar in college is provided the direct support and services proven to increase the likelihood for college success, including: mentoring, peer-to-peer networks, college resources for students and parents, internships and other work opportunities.

Hartford Promise’s newest service helps Scholars make the connection from college to adult life. From internship programs to career pipelines, alumni networking to civic engagement training, Reaching Beyond helps Hartford Promise Scholars access opportunities and give back to their communities.

Our Promise To You
The Promise Scholarship is a very generous award that can be used to cover anything a college bills a student including room and board, fees, tuition, etc, and it can be used at any accredited college or university in the country. |

A Last-Dollar Scholarship
The Hartford Promise Award is a last-dollar scholarship, meaning our award covers the gap that remains after all individual grants, financial aid, and other scholarships have been applied to the scholar’s account. This gap can often stop Hartford students from attending college. We are removing that hurdle. |

What You Get
Scholars attending any accredited, non-for-profit 4-year college or university full-time receive up to $5,000 per year from Hartford Promise plus up to $20,000 per year from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving for a total of up to $25,000 per year. Students attending any accredited, not-for-profit 2-year college full-time receive up to $2,500 per year. |
