Scholar Day 2016 10

Ways to Donate

Promise Scholars have done all they can to persevere and be successful. They are true role models. We hope you will find a way to support their effort and give generously.

The success of Hartford Promise depends on all members of our community embracing the ambitious goals of our students. All donations large and small are important in making Hartford Promise a reality. Thank you for being with us.

GIVE. ALL. YOU. CAN.

Every donation of every size is important to Hartford Promise.

Here are some examples of larger ways to support the Promise Scholars.

We welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss how we can match your philanthropic vision with Hartford Promise’s ambitious goals!

GIVE. ALL. YOU. CAN.

Why Hartford Promise Matters

Nothing changes economic outcomes and creates greater opportunities like higher education.

Annual scholarship costs will be approximately $2 million and we expect this number to grow as the number of Promise Scholars increases. Our goal is to raise $6 million by 2018 and $15 million by 2021 to make a long-term promise to future Hartford Promise scholars.

Hartford Promise is large scale! Our first class of Scholars consisted of 144 amazing students. Hartford Promise is also personal! Many of the Promise Scholars will be first generation college goers. Hartford Promise will strengthen Hartford’s college going culture, increase student expectations, increase the number of Hartford students graduating from college, and add to a larger, more qualified work-force.

“Hartford Promise moves us another step toward our vision of creating a school system where every student is well prepared, both intellectually and financially for college and career success. I’m excited and eager to be working with Richard. The Hartford Promise is a well thought out approach to building student readiness and breaking down barriers that stand in the way of post-secondary education. It will define our district for many years to come. I want to thank the business and non-profit leaders in the city who joined together to support this breakthrough strategy.”
